1. Information We Collect
EST-Leaf stores the following data locally on your device only:
- Project names, dates, and plant species labels you enter
- Leaf inclination, azimuth, and incidence angle measurements
- GPS coordinates you choose to record with each project
- Photos of plants you optionally attach to projects
- Computed statistics (mean angle, Beta distribution parameters, G-function values)
This data is stored in a local SQLite database and photo files on your device. It is never sent to any server, cloud service, or third party.
2. Device Permissions
EST-Leaf requests the following device permissions:
- Location (When In Use) — to record the GPS coordinates of your measurement project and to calculate the current sun position for the incidence-angle computation. Location data is stored only in your local project database.
- Camera — to let you photograph the plant stand and attach the image to your project. Photos are saved locally on your device.
- Motion sensors (accelerometer, magnetometer) — to measure leaf inclination and azimuth angles. Raw sensor readings are processed on-device and only the resulting angle values are saved.
You can revoke any permission at any time in iPhone Settings → EST-Leaf. Revoking location or motion access will limit the app's core measurement functionality.
3. Data Sharing
We do not share any data with third parties. EST-Leaf contains no advertising SDKs, analytics frameworks, crash reporters, or any other third-party code that transmits data off your device.
When you choose "Share CSV" or "Save CSV" inside the app, the exported file is delivered to your device's local Documents folder or shared through iOS's standard share sheet — entirely at your discretion.
4. Data Retention and Deletion
All data resides on your device. You can delete individual projects, measurements, or photos from within the app at any time. Uninstalling EST-Leaf removes all associated data from your device permanently.
5. Children's Privacy
EST-Leaf is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.
6. Changes to This Policy
If this privacy policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a revised date. We encourage you to review it periodically.
